There's something so great about being in the land of women. It's a mystical place that no man has the wisdom to find or the strength to maintain the power within. When I say "the land of women" I am speaking of an environment where we, women, are unapologetically are ourselves. An environment that's created only with women who have experienced both highs and lows in life and are still seeking and yearning to be the highest and best expression of themselves. An environment where women come to table with varying experiences and perspectives as moms, business owners, sisters, managers, students and wives. An environment where you can share your truth and raw emotion without judgement.
This is what happened this past weekend. It was my fabulous sistercousins', Terri, 29th birthday. She celebrated in Lexington, MI right off one of Michigan's Great Lakes, Lake Huron. Oh the conversations we had! There was learning, laughing, and a few reality checks.
So if you've never been to the Land of women, here's a snapshot!
What we talked about:
-Us: Black Women what we accepted and culture vs the truth -Approaches to dating: The Roster vs. One Man at Time -Interracial dating
Fun Fact: Out of 6 women, NONE of us had a comb or brush for the entire weekend...why Lawd?!? #strugglebun
