Seriously, I'm mad at ya'll #KamalaHarris

On the very same day we celebrate the civil rights icon, Dr. Martin Luther King for his contributions to the world and challenging of the status quo, a black woman throws her hat in the ring as candidate for President of the United States of America. This person is Kamala Harris, a California senator and former district attorney and prosecutor for that same state.

One would initially think, WOW! What a time to be alive! A woman, a black woman, could possibly be the leader of this free nation! And to add to her #BlackGirlMagic, she graduated from a Historically Black University - Howard University AND AND she's a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority Incorporated!

Not to mention the simple fact that she's smart, strategic, and has become this accomplished.

But none of that matters, right? Or at least that's the conclusion I've come to, that as a black women, your greatness only matters when serving someone else and when it's encased in perfection (based on another flawed human's perception of perfection).

I came to this conclusion, literally, in the middle of this podcast/ my rant. Because much to my dismay and utter disbelief in less than 12 whole hours, out of the highways and hedges, came newborn political pundits and policy experts attempting to discredit and dismiss Harris as viable candidate for presidency in 2020.

Ya'll it hadn't even been 12 hours.

Some of the most egregious statements said Harris was not a worthy candidate (because as a prosecutor, (wait for it) she prosecuted). The statements pointed out her decisions on prison reform, criminal justice reform, etc - which all matter and her constituents deserve a response...

-However when that is the linchpin of any person's reasoning to began dismantling a candidate, I began to question the goal, intent, and purpose in many of these statements....

Why? Because it's simply illogical! I know because of the series of questions below.

What else does the president of the United States handle?

What's the role of the attorney/prosecutor?

Where does she stand on education, reproductive rights, LGBT issues, health care, taking care of veterans, student loans?

What has she done as senator? What policies did she enact as a prosecutor?

Where has one-issue voting gotten this country?

Show me an example of a perfect candidate that has met all your desires & executed on them.

and most importantly...

IT HADN'T EVEN BEEN A FULL 12 HOURS YA'LL..

So yes I'm pissed, angry, mad...at ya'll, at us...do better...

Here's my rant.
