How being a single woman in the Black church was traumatic

The church, for many, in the Black community is seen collectively as a place of refuge, safety, and freedom. It has been deemed an environment to collectively gather to worship, connect with the divine, and fellowship with other believers but that has only been a part of the experience for many Black women. The other part of being a part of a ministry is riddled with shame, microaggressions, and trauma that's very much connected to a relationship status or appearance. This week's confession comes from, our very own Danielle Moore, sharing her lived experience of being single, without children in the Black church.
